This is my story:

Hi am Kins and i am a person with schizophrenia. I started to experience the symptoms when I was in mid 20s. At first, it was difficult to identify because in my country people around me believe in possessed demons or evil spirits. They believe that hearing voices and seeing different things is a supernatural phenomena rather than a mental disorder, so my condition was prolonged and not treated. Fortunately, my parents were able to identify how to see things differently and started to send me to hospital way back 2016. I have several therapies and medication for the negative symptoms of this illness.

With the help of therapy and medication, I started to rebuild myself as a completely different person. I am now a teacher and an advocate for children with special needs.

As I’ve met people who has the same struggle as me I realized that heartaches are just part of the lessons, it molds me to a completely different person. A person who inspire. Thanks to schizophrenia!
